This letter is provided as a testimonial to the professionalism and workmanship provided by Bob LePage and the Ex-El Company. I had Bob install a 1.5" nominal foam roof on my home in Santa Fe. I investigated various options available for my roof before selecting foam. I found that the initial cost of foam was about 15% higher that a built-up roof. However, my calculations showed that when total life cycle costs were taken into consideration, the foam roof would be about 40% less expensive. This analysis conservatively placed the foam roof's life at 20 years and included reductions in fuel usage associated with the foam roof.
The home is a 3900 square foot, $1.25 Million property in Santa Fe, and Ex-El completed the job in less than two days, leaving a leak-proof roof and (significantly to me) no debris or refuse to be disposed of. As a

I just wanted to say thank you for the many years of service you have given us. Shortly after we moved into our town home, the roof began to leak. We called various different roofing companies for estimates, and could not seem to get a reasonable estimate. It seemed that none of the companies we called could agree on why the roof was leaking, and what the best solution would be for the long-term. Although I didn't know very much about a foam roof, I decided to give the company a call. Right away, I was treated with the best of service. The estimator came out right on time, and he showed me exactly why my roof was leaking, and he explained to me what a short term fix, as well as a long term fix would be. He then began to explain the procedure involved in re-doing our roof, and the many benefits of having a foam roof. I was not pressured, but I was left with information that would let me make the decision on my own.
I decided to get my roofing done with Ex-El, and was very pleased with the results. The crew was very nice and respectful. But I do have to admit that I was quite skeptical when I read that my energy bills would be less in both the summer and winter. But this was soon put to rest because the very next day I could tell a difference in the internal temperature of the entire house. In the summer, we are very fortunate to not have to use air conditioning everyday; and when we do use it we usually turn it on sometime during the afternoon. During the winter, we usually use the fireplace to heat our home, and the house retains the heat through the night into the early morning. When we hear that the cost of gas is going to rise, we don't worry as much as we used to because we know that our home is now well insulated from any type of weather that may come.
The Ex-El Company exceeded all of the expectations I had, not only with their product, but with their entire staff. It is always easy to schedule maintenance, they work with my schedule, and they are always honest and respectful. I have recommended them to co-workers, friends, and neighbors. We have a 3000 square foot 30+ year old home that needed a new roof. Being new to New Mexico when we started the job and being unfamiliar with flat roof construction, we looked at all of our options. We decided to go with Ex-El Foam roofing. We did it in two stages. And our experience has been nothing but positive.
Since our last section being completed, our heating/cooling bills have been reduced significantly and our home is quieter. We are often in the path of landing aircrafts and the noise has been all but eliminated. Our heater/coolers do not go on nearly as often as they used to. We have touted the benefits of a foam roof to anyone who would listen. The other wonderful part of doing business with Ex-El is the yearly inspection and repairs, should they be necessary. It takes all the worry about possible leaks or failure. We have had a couple of issues during the year and they have come out and fixed it immediately. Barry and I want to take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderfully warm winter we enjoyed even with the unusual cold and snow that we experienced. We know that the reason we were so warm and cozy was due to the foam insulation that we had installed the previous fall.
We have lived in this home for six years and dreaded the cool months because the block walls would be sooo cold and drafty. We updated the windows and doors as well as added the foam insulation and now we don't care how cold it gets!!! Our propane company is a bit miffed because even with the increase in gas prices, we used a third less this winter than in the past six years. We think this is great!!
Our neighbors found the process of the foam application fascinating...They remarked, as did our teenagers, that our house looked like a giant marshmallow and, because the weather was too cold for the stucco to be applied right away, they were concerned that the home would forever look like that. However, when they came inside for coffee, they were impressed with the comfort and they noticed that our furnace wasn't running constantly, and they soon became accustomed to our new look.
As you can see by the finished picture, with the application of the stucco coat, our block home looks very much like an old adobe...which is the look we want. Our before pictures show how dreary our home looked and felt. We will forever be grateful to you for your great service and for having such a useful and affordable product.

After a long and exhaustive search for a company and a technology to use to re-roof our home, we selected the Ex-El Company and their polyurethane technology over the traditional tar and gravel roof we were replacing.
We are very pleased, both with the product and with the job that was done by the Ex-El Company. Just as promised, the installation was done with great care, with virtually no interruption of our day-to-day lives. Our home and yard were treated with great care and concern. There was no detectable mess left at the end of the day, and were surprised with how clean and efficient the entire process was.
However pleased we are with the company and process, the product is even better. There has been a very noticeable difference in the noise level and coolness of our home since installation. We have already been through many very warm days (90 degree plus) and our home has remained cool and comfortable inside, even when left closed up. It is absolutely amazing how much more comfortable our home is. I estimate that there is a 15-20 degree difference between the inside and outside temperature, much like one would expect with the use of an air conditioner.
While as of the writing of this letter, we have not been through a winter with our new roof, i can only imagine how much warmer our home will be and we expect that it will be much less expensive to heat our home this winter because of our new foam roof. In a word we are delighted.

I would highly recommend to anyone to have the spray foam roofing installed by the Ex-El Co. After checking with several traditional tar roofing companies, I was not impressed by their warranty or lack of any preventative maintenance program.
The yearly inspection program offered by the Ex-El Co., identifies areas that could cause problems. These areas are corrected, insuring the integrity of the roof.
The foam roof has also added to the comfort of our home by making it warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

I can't, of course, climb up to look at myself (being too old and decrepit!), but everyone who has been up there tells me it's far and away the best roof of the kind they've seen! This includes Miller Bonded, who came to reattach the air conditioner which your crew had to move, and Mr. Electric (Don Venn), who came to get the roof lights working properly again.

Here is mini story about the ad with the Ex-El Company that I saw that morning when I was getting ready to leave to go run some errands. I saw the ad on TV they were showing how they spray the foam on the roof so I thought to myself I am going to give them a call and see what they tell me.
As to this day I like to extend a great thank you to the Ex-El Company for doing my roof at my house at Isleta Pueblo. They did the service in March of 2004; before Ex-El came I used to have a lot problems especially when it would rain.
With this company I am satisfied as to what they did to my roof. I have no complaints at all. The guys that came to my house were very nice and helpful. Also everything that I asked of them they did without question.
I recommend people that have flat roofs to use the Ex-El Company. Their foam roof is worry free and maintenance free. The reason why I am saying this, my house in the village is over 200 hundred years old. I have also noticed during the winter months my house is much warmer then it used to be compared to the old paper and tar method.

Our roof has now been tested by two months of 90 degree plus weather and monsoon rains. Although the roof does pond slightly immediately after the rains, it soon drains through the gravel and it does not appear to have any ponds remaining the next day.
A substantial bonus is the extra insulation provided. Our air conditioner does not seem to run as much and our garage, which had no prior insulation in the ceiling, no longer needs to be "vented" as we had to do previously to on the very hot days to keep the interior from getting too hot. The garage now remains comfortable on even the hottest days.
Our satisfaction with the new polyurethane foam roof is, at the time, total. Our only negative with the application, as I mentioned previously, is not enough protection for over spray on windows, etc. which we consider as minor relative to the advantages that the polyurethane provides.
Again, we are confident that our future for the next decade will be absent of any roof problems. Thanks.

I wish to commend your personnel on a job well done on the foam insulation roof coating just finished on my home at 6717 Pino Ave., NE. I contacted your agency after seeing your truck in our neighborhood roofing another home in this area. Royce was extremely helpful and explained your policy to me thoroughly. When I decided to have the work done, he got me the estimates in short order.
Mr. Hammer and his crew worked diligently and rapidly weather permitting, to finish the job in as short a time as possible. About half way through the work I decided to add another several hundred square feet to the job on a job change order....this set the workers back further in their pursuit to finish the project. Mr. Hammer's crew were quiet, always busy at his orders and very polite. They did an excellent job of cleaning up the area after the work was finished.
I applaud Mr. Hammer's professionalism and his efforts to give the best possible service to his customer. He kept me fully aware of the progress of the work at all times and was completely "on the money" as to a finish date.

I would like to thank the EX-EL Co. for a job that was well done and in a professional way. EX-EL Co. sprayed the flat roof portions of our home roof with polyurethane foam in May 2001 and since then we have noticed the noise level in our home has decreased greatly.
Your Co. also corrected faults in the canale systems so they can now drain properly by sloping the roof rather than being in a totally flat condition as it was before the new roofing system.
We also notice that we do not have to turn on our air conditioner until mid afternoon, while prior to the roof polyurethane installation we would turn the air conditioning on in the morning.

On September 28th 2007 the Ex-El Co., Inc completed re-roofing our home in Rio Rancho.
Our decision to use Ex-El Co's system was based on our concerns about having another tar and gravel system. The old roof lasted quite well and was done by a reputable contractor but we had heard that there was a better system at almost the same cost. Another house on our street had its re-roofing done by The Ex-El Co about five years ago so we went down to visit and see what the owners had to say. Apparently their roof stood up well even to the hail storm that was forcing us to get our house re-roofed.
We therefore made the decision to call Ex-El Co whose representative immediately came to visit us and explain in detail what was involved. The meeting was pleasant, well presented and very professional. It took only a few days to get a firm quote and after a short delay on our part we signed the Contract.
Ex-El's roofers were excellent. They took a great deal of trouble to keep out of our way as much as possible (it took a week to finish our roof) and were always available if we had questions. After completion we had a concern about our swamp cooler installation and their representative was out to our house immediately and resolved the problem.

The work on our new Ex-El roof was completed recently and already we have noticed some differences. The furnace is coming on less often, yet the house is still warm. Also, the noise from the airplanes going overhead is not as loud. Before, the noise of the jets was loud enough to drown out conversations and TV programs.
The work was done with a minimum of intrusion into our daily routines and the crew was courteous. I was kept informed of the progress and told when to expect the workers each day. The site was cleaned after the work was completed and inspected by Bob and Rodney.

I am writing to commend EX-EL for your professionalism, product and performance. I recently had the EX-EL system installed on my roof and am delighted with the end result.
As an engineer who has worked in many technical areas for 34 years, I have a good understanding of thermal management and materials. It is clear to me that any substance that changes its material state from solid to near-liquid back to solid, in an open environment, as a result of our climate's thermal cycles is destined to become brittle and crack over time. Thus, it is no surprise to me that conventional flat roofs are destined to fail and require high maintenance or replacement.
For years, I have had in my mind a concept for a roofing system that would be impervious to our harsh climate. When I "discovered" the EX-EL system, I said, "That's the system I've been dreaming of creating!" I was correct. I'm completely satisfied with my new roofing system.
I am also impressed that Bob took the time to completely explain the materials and process, and to answer my nearly endless series of questions. The fact that he is also an engineer probably helped him understand my inquisitive nature. We just can't seem to help ourselves.

In approximately 1979, we had a foam roof applied to a flat roof portion of our home. It has served satisfactorily since then with two re coatings and another one to be applied soon. We installed a skylight several years ago, and the foam portion of the roof showed no deterioration whatsoever. Based on this, we would not hesitate to use a foam roof again, either personally or in our construction for other owners.

I want to thank you every so much for your excellent work. You and your crew have done an extremely thorough job foaming my large and complex roof. I'm particularly impressed with your professionalism and your attention to detail. You have taken care of all the usual smaller "finish up" details much better than the usual contractor I have dealt with. Also, I appreciate your steadiness and sense of humor as you coped with the unforeseen problems requiring changes in the nature of the job. Its clear that you planned in a cushion for the inevitable.
You did a good job of scheduling. You didn't start until you could put serious time into the project and you managed to take care of other customers toward the end without excessively delaying the finish work on my job. Most contractors I have hired have failed miserably in this respect.
The roof has five or six-thousand square feet of surface, horizontal, vertical and sloping clerestories. There were many complex joints and sections of previous repairs gone wrong. Now all is covered and, after one touch up, not a single leak for the first time in the 18 year life of our house, congratulations.
I was particularly impressed with the painstaking care you took with the initial masking of all the many windows and the machinery that operates the exterior shades. With no exceptions when I reattached the wiring everything worked just fine. I had only a few minutes worth of minor work to do to get the covers to fit properly right off the bat.
I would not hesitate to recommend you to all and sundry nor to use your services again in any capacity whatsoever. Please feel free to show off your job at my house to any future customer,particularly the doubters, at any time.

Just a note to tell you how happy I am with my new Ex-El polyurethane roof. I'm grateful that it could be done during my week off. In February 2000 your company installed a foam roof on my home and carport. The work was done professionally and rapidly by your dedicated employees.
To date the roof is in excellent condition due partially to the excellent Maintenance and Inspections carried out each year.
